Did you know that boxing gloves are designed to protect more than your hands?

DECATHLON's combat sports brand offers useful suggestions for your sporting practice
Choosing boxing gloves depends on your level (novice or advanced) and should help with sweat management and be durable. Let’s dig a little deeper…
If you're new to boxing and train once a week, opt for boxing gloves with good palm ventilation. Look for a breathable material such as mesh or a design with micro perforations.
If you're an advanced boxer and train two or three times a week in a club or on a punch bag, choose a pair of gloves with a thick outer such as leather or synthetic leather. Over time, your gloves will begin to wear at the impact zones, so it is key to find a durable glove that can withstand lots of action.

Boxing gloves have a specific sizing system expressed in ounces (oz).
This reflects the weight of the gloves (and therefore their level of protection) and corresponds to the boxer's weight.
The following guide can help you choose:
6oz > 50kg
8oz 51 to 63kg
10oz 64 to 74kg
12oz 75 to 90kg
14 and 16oz > 90kg

Top tip: Use boxing hand wraps (or mitts) to absorb perspiration and extend the lifespan of your gloves.
