DECATHLON's martial arts brand offers useful suggestions for your sporting practice
There are two criteria to consider when choosing a judo gi: your height and skill level.

To make matters even simpler, judo gis are unisex. There’s just one style and it’s suited to everyone.
The right size with depend on your height.
For a child: sizes range from 100cm to 150cm.
For an adult: sizes range from 160cm to 200cm.

Judo is grappling sport. As such, the uniform fabric needs to be thick enough to withstand grabbing by the opponent. The heavier the fabric, the sturdier the uniform.
Here are our recommendations for uniform weights:
For novice children who are training: a supple and lightweight fabric of 190g/sqm.
For children who are competing: a thick and durable weight of 350g/sqm.
For novice adults who are training: a supple and lightweight fabric of 440g/sqm.
For adults who are competing: a thick and durable weight of 700g/sqm or higher.

A judo uniform tends to shrink during the first few washes, so we suggest choosing a uniform that is 5 to 10cm larger than your height.
