What is TRX training?

Total Resistance Exercises (TRX) are a type of suspension training that uses body weight via a TRX Suspension Trainer to perform various exercises. Created in 2005, it was founded by entrepreneur, TV personality and former US Navy SEAL Officer Randy Hetrick, who sought to create a completely different approach to strength training.

Today, the TRX training network includes a large global community of professional athletes and trainers, as well as beginners and experienced enthusiasts - all of whom are passionate about feeling better and living better. This simple training approach includes seven basic movements to build a better body: Push, Pull, Plank, Hinge, Lunge, Squat and Rotate.

The research behind TRX training

A study by Ace-Sponsored Research found that TRX Suspension Training helped people reduce their waist circumference, body-fat percentage, diastolic blood pressure and systolic blood pressure - key indicators of an improvement of overall cardiovascular health. Dr. Lance C. Dalleck, Ph.D, who led a team of researchers in this study, found that long-term TRX training has also been linked to the prevention of diabetes and mortality - and the holistic benefits could be seen as early as eight weeks after people started using the bands.
